Sean Castillo
was born July 1, 1988 in Pasay City Metro Manila. He is a second child to a
family of 6 children (3 boys, 3 girls). He was raised at the original Christmas
Capital of the Philippines, the municipality of Imus from the province of
Cavite.
The boy
graduated kindergarten at St. Emilene Academy and Grades School at St. Mary
Magdalene School in Kawit Cavite. During those days, he only focused on his
academics, and maintained to be on the top 10. He has no interest in joining to
any clubs or extracurricular activities unlike his ate who was part of dance troupe and theatre guild. At the age of
10, his uncle encouraged him to join knights of the altar “sakristan”. That was his first time to join in a group, since then,
his confidence and social life improved.
When he was in high school, he exposed himself to lots of opportunities
in which he can surely learn something. He became the Secretary of the INTER-SCHOOL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, core
assistant of IMUS INSTITUTE STUDENT
GOVERNMENT, and he also performs every time there were programs at school.
Sean took up
college at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasay currently known as City University of
Pasay with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Still
extracurricular activities kept him busy. He became the Mr. Education 2005 1st-runner
up and G. PLP 2006 1st runner-up. He was a student assistant at the
registrar’s office of their university from 2006-2008.
It’s true that once you become a leader, your desire to
empower others through service will not easily fade. That’s why he ran and
became level representative of COLLEGE OF EDUCATION STUDENT COUNCIL in
2006-2007, And Asst. Treasurer of CENTRAL STUDENT COUNCIL in 2007-2008.
After he
graduated in 2009, while waiting for the result of their Licensure Examination,
he worked as Property Consultant at DMCI HOMES. June 2010, after passing the
LET, he started working as public elementary school teacher and currently one of the board of directors of GES Multipurpose Cooperative.
